SERVICE BULLETIN # 12

SUBJECT:    Rotax 912 Throttle Cable

TO:    Kitfox™ ‘912’ Owners

FROM:    Denney Aerocraft Company

Denney Aerocraft Company has had two incidents where the 912 Engine Throttle Cable in part 46007 or 46009 has broken after several hundred hours of operation. These solid-wire cables are apparently work-hardening from bending during usage and vibration causing them to fracture.

We recommend that these solid-wire style cables be replaced with a more flexible 1/16” (7x7) stainless steel braided cable, which is enclosed. It is necessary when using this cable that the springs on the throttle arms be installed and that they provide a positive pull to the wide-open position.
