        BULLETIN: #28 SERVICE
BULLETIN: RUDDER PEDAL GUIDE PULLEY SAFETY TAB TO:
EARLY MODEL IV CONTROL SYSTEMS FROM:
        SKYSTAR AIRCRAFT The
original design of the Model IV control system and retro-fit control
system, did not provide for a safety tab to keep the rudder cable form
accidentally slipping out of the guide pulley. With out this safety tab,
the rudder cable can slip out of the pulley valley and get caught
between the pulley and the mounting tab. This is especially true when
the rudder is manually manipulated, such as in pre-flighting, because
the rudder cable is routed on the bottom side of the guide pulley. If
the rudder cable is allowed to get enough slack in it, its is possible
for the cable to come out of the pulley and get lodged between tab and
        pulley. The
#12701 Tab, is fabricated from thin aluminum material and riveted into
place on the longer, pulley mounting tab, with one 1/8” X 1/8”
stainless steel rivet. Per the diagram below, fabricate a #12701 Tab
from the enclosed material and attach it to the pulley mounting tab in
accordance with standard drilling, deburring, and riveting practices. If
you have any questions regarding this Bulletin, please feel free to call
the SkyStar Technical Department at: Ph. (208) 466-1711 or Fax (208)
        466-7194. |
